Lost in Transition explores the disorientation of familiar non places, transforming routine spatial experience into something unstable and unfamiliar. Through repetition, lighting and atmosphere, the work interrupts established patterns of navigation and creates new spatial permutations with the audience. It considers how a recognisable environment can shift into otherness, becoming a threshold between the known, the dreamlike and the quietly unsafe.
The installation takes the form of a maze made from identical doors. Participants wander alone, choosing routes while gradually losing their sense of orientation within the structure. A changing coloured light appears at one end of the maze, guiding them back towards the beginning without fully resolving where they are. Created as a spatial design group project with Ines Delgado, Leonardo Scarin, Jungheun Kim and Hannah Mulqueen, the work uses atmosphere curation to make liminal space physically present.
